Flake epoxy

Flake epoxy is the most requested garage finish: vinyl flakes broadcast to full coverage over a pigmented base coat, then sealed with polyaspartic. It is textured, slip-resistant, and it hides the flaws in the slab.

  • RBQ licence 8005-0081-14
  • 5-year warranty
  • CNESST compliant
  • Residential, commercial, industrial

How the flake system is built

From slab to finish, in order:

  • Diamond grinding with CNESST-compliant dust extraction, and crack repair
  • EF-160 MVB moisture-barrier primer at 18 mils
  • Pigmented epoxy base coat at 18 mils
  • Vinyl flakes broadcast to full coverage
  • EF-290 polyaspartic topcoat at 10–12 mils

What does “full coverage” mean?

Flakes are broadcast onto the still-wet base coat until it cannot take any more, then the excess is swept up. The surface is completely covered: no thin patches where the base colour shows through. That is what gives the floor its even texture and its granite look.

Where it works best

Anywhere you want a forgiving floor: a garage where snow melts off the car, an entrance, a workshop, a basement gym, a busy store. The flake texture gives grip underfoot, and the colour blend disguises dust and marks between cleanings.

Durability and upkeep

The flakes are locked into the base coat, then sealed under the polyaspartic topcoat: you walk on the topcoat, not on the flakes. The system resists chemicals, road salt and impact, and the topcoat protects against abrasion and UV. Cleaning is a mop and a mild cleaner.

32 blends, four series

Everflow flakes come in four series: standard, stone/terrazzo, marble and quartz. The selector below shows every blend large; pick one and it is added to your estimate request. Samples may differ slightly from the finished floor.

What our clients say

Nicholas and the guys did our garage floor last month and it honestly looks better than the rest of the house. Super clean job, barely any dust left behind, and the flake finish hides everything.

  6. Polyaspartic topcoat

A protective layer resistant to UV and abrasion.

  7. Cove bases and drains

4-inch cove base and custom stainless-steel drain covers.

Frequently asked questions

Do the flakes come off?

No. They are locked into the base coat, then sealed under the polyaspartic topcoat. You walk on the topcoat, not on the flakes.

Is the marble flake series the same as marble-effect epoxy?

No. The marble series is a flake blend in marble tones, with the granite texture of flakes. Marble-effect epoxy is a smooth, glossy finish with veining worked by hand.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the area, the condition of the concrete (cracks, spalling, moisture), the finish you choose and any cove base or drains. We come out for free to measure and give you a detailed written quote, with no obligation.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes — a 5-year warranty. Le Groupe Exclusif holds RBQ licence 8005-0081-14 and works with CNESST-compliant dust extraction.
