Epoxy floors, polished concrete and concrete repair in Terrebonne
Terrebonne sits at the end of the nearly straight line Autoroute 25 draws from our office: we cross Laval, then the Rivière des Mille Îles, and we are there after about thirty kilometres. The city, which also takes in Lachenaie and La Plaine, has a high share of newer homes with attached garages.

A new slab is not a paint-ready slab
In newer areas like Urbanova or the recent streets of La Plaine, people often assume a slab only a few years old can be coated as is. In practice, even young concrete has a smooth, dusty surface that gets in the way of adhesion, and it develops shrinkage cracks as it dries.
That is why we diamond-grind every floor, whatever its age, and fill every crack with epoxy or polyurea before the EF-160 MVB primer goes down.
The advice given at the estimate
The review on this page comes from Terrebonne. It describes a quote done by Nicholas himself, and the advice to repair a few cracks in the slab before applying the epoxy.
That is how we work: whatever we see in the concrete goes into the written quote, before anything is signed. An owner who knows the state of the slab can make the call with eyes open, instead of finding a problem once the floor is down.
Garages, basements and commercial space up north
For an attached garage in Terrebonne, flake epoxy is our first suggestion, with a 4-inch cove base running up the foot of the walls so the salt washes off easily. Finished basements in newer homes suit metallic epoxy, with pearlescent pigment worked by hand, or a marble finish.
On the commercial side, units and warehouses along the 640 and the 25 get solid-colour epoxy or polished concrete, depending on the use and the state of the slab.
Old Terrebonne, the other side of the city
Not everything in Terrebonne is new. Around Île-des-Moulins and on the streets of Old Terrebonne, much older houses have low basements, sometimes on a thin or uneven slab.
There the job starts by putting the concrete back in shape: cracks filled, weak patches cut out and repoured, or the whole slab replaced if it can no longer carry a coating. The finish is chosen afterwards, based on how the room is used.
Thirty kilometres, winter included
The distance changes nothing about the prep: the same grinding gear and CNESST-compliant extraction make the trip to Terrebonne. And since a basement or a commercial unit is indoor work, we keep at it all winter, once the outdoor building season is over.
What our clients say
Nicholas came out to quote the job himself and gave us honest advice about fixing a couple of structural cracks in the concrete slab before applying the epoxy. Appreciated the transparency.
Frequently asked questions
My house is less than ten years old. Does the slab really need grinding?
Yes. Grinding removes the weak surface layer and opens up the concrete so the moisture-barrier primer can soak in. On a new slab that hasn’t been ground, even a good coating may not bond properly.
Do you go to Lachenaie and La Plaine?
Yes, all of Terrebonne: Old Terrebonne and Île-des-Moulins, Lachenaie, La Plaine and the new Urbanova neighbourhoods. For Mascouche or another North Shore town, a quick call will confirm it.
Can I still use the garage during the work?
No: it has to be emptied and the car parked in the driveway while we are there. We set the dates with you so the timing works, and most garages are finished in about a week.
My slab has cracks. Is that a problem?
That is the norm, not the exception. Cracks are opened up and filled with epoxy or polyurea before anything is applied. If a crack points to a structural problem, we tell you at the estimate, before any work starts.
